LIDCOM Maharashtra: Loan Subsidy & 50% Capital Grant for Charmakar Community Artisans
How the Sant Rohidas Charmakar Development Corporation (LIDCOM) provides 50% capital subsidies (up to ₹50,000) and low-interest bank loans for footwear, leather, and retail ventures.
The Sant Rohidas Leather Industries & Charmakar Development Corporation Ltd. (LIDCOM / संत रोहिदास चर्मोद्योग व चर्मकार विकास महामंडळ) is a specialized statutory body of the Government of Maharashtra dedicated to the socio-economic upliftment of the Charmakar community (Dhor, Chambhar, Holar, Mochi, etc.).
Beyond traditional leather craftsmanship, LIDCOM today finances modern branded footwear showrooms, bag manufacturing workshops, general retail shops, and commercial passenger vehicles.
1. 50% Capital Subsidy Scheme (Special Central Assistance)
For project proposals up to ₹1,00,000:
- Direct Non-Refundable Subsidy: 50% of the project cost, up to a maximum of ₹50,000.
- Bank Loan: Remaining 50% financed through a nationalized or cooperative bank.
- Beneficiary Share: Zero to nominal.
This allows micro-entrepreneurs to purchase commercial sewing and stitching machinery, raw leather stock, or retail display counters without taking heavy private debt.
2. 20% Seed Capital Scheme (Projects up to ₹5 Lakh)
For larger ventures:
- 75% Bank Loan at commercial rates.
- 20% LIDCOM Seed Capital at a concessional interest rate of only 4% p.a.
- 5% Promoter Equity.
3. Mandatory Requirements
- Must belong to the Charmakar community with a verified Caste Certificate.
- Resident of Maharashtra with Domicile Certificate.
- Age between 18 and 50 years.
- Application submitted through the district LIDCOM manager or online state welfare portal.
